How We Actually Got Here

Back in early 2005, three of us were sitting around a café table in Sydney, frustrated by how difficult it was to get straightforward financial analysis for mid-sized businesses. Everything was either too basic or wrapped in consultant-speak that nobody really understood.

So we started small. A few clients who wanted honest answers about their market position. Some industry reports that actually made sense. No fancy promises, just solid research and clear communication.

Twenty years later, we're still doing the same thing—just with better data tools and a bigger team. We've watched the Australian business landscape shift through mining booms, tech disruptions, and everything in between. That perspective matters when you're trying to understand where an industry's actually headed versus where everyone thinks it's going.

Meet Kasper Lindström

Kasper joined us in 2012 after spending eight years doing industry research for various consulting firms. He was tired of producing reports that looked impressive but didn't actually help anyone make better decisions.

These days, he leads our analytical team and spends most of his time digging into industry trends that other analysts haven't noticed yet. Last year, he spotted early warning signs in the retail supply chain that saved three of our clients from making expensive expansion decisions.
